About James Delia

Born in the early ’60s, James Delia was given a guitar at the age of 5 years old. Growing up in the best era of Rock & Roll History his influences were many. From the likes of Chuck Berry, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Jeff Beck, Van Halen, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, Albert Lee, Danny Gatton, Roy Clark, Jerry Reed and more.James Delia Return of a Legend At the age of 13 his first pro gig was playing guitar for an Elvis impersonator group.

His passion for music led him into the world of studio production at a young age, working as an audio engineer, arranger and as a music producer for over 30 years.

In the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s, the original groups he was part of were often acclaimed for their musicianship and performances. The most notable groups were Broken Sylense (cir. 1985-87), Theater 99 (cir. 1988-90) and Fragile Jane (cir. 1990-94).  In the late 1990s he started touring professionally as a sideman (guitar) for various artists, as well as an audio engineer. Often called upon by various artists because of his musical mind and ears, as well as knowing how to get the best possible performances from the artists “in the can” or in a live performance.

When the millennium hit he was working with the famed Grace Jones as well some notable artists like Soraya Busta Rhymes, Wycliffe Jean, Pit Bull (yet unknown) as well as others from the Latin world like Jose Jose, Armando Manzenero, Raul DiBlasio either in the studio or on tour, U.S. and internationally.

In the mid 2000s he put his career on hold to care for his elderly parents who passed after 8 years, and unfortunately, after his parents he cared for his older brother who passed soon after.

His time now is spent forming his new group performing under his own name, as well as performing with Mr. Bad & The Saints™. The music he performs is a gracious blend of styles that are sure to please everyone who is a fan of not just guitar, but great live music always performed with heart and soul.
